GR8, Where were you when i had money to gamble.....I made money (for awhile) and then i lost a lot more (too much) I had no problem to leave when I was ahead but could not leave when I was behind, I remember winning 23 sessions in a row for about 21000$ and one night loosing 25000$ and that is only ONE bad night....I have tried every possible system but came to the same conclusion as you did, bet selection discipline and winning few units in a session without risking too much. I appreciate you fine tunning my thinking, this is what I like when you have passionnate people sharing strategies, same thing for poker players in vegas they sit and talk poker, that is why they improved their game so much. we can do the same with Bacarrat. I just have to find my unit value where i am confortable at and where winning one or two units in a shoe makes me feel happy!

thanks again for your great input!

Oh, Vivandy, if it were only that easy.....

    >......but could not leave when I was behind.<

The ABSOLUTELY TOUGHEST thing for any player, by far.

You see, Vivandy, we are actually "programmed", as humans, to want to "recover" something that was "taken from us", and in as soon a time frame as possible. So, it's only natural for us to want to recoup ("recover") any of our losses ("taken from us") as immediately ("soon time frame") as possible.

But, knowing all of that, NOW we can fight that urge, and, eventually, control it.

That's why you need to develope certain habits, or traits, that all professionals have in common; certainly not the least of which is knowing when to abort a difficult and/or losing session. One must learn to accept losses, for they are inevitable.

Eventually, when you really have it "down pat" in your mind, you'll come to realize that accepting a short loss in a difficult session is actually more about "money saving" than it is about "money losing". And, hence, "saving money" is tantamount to "winning money". SOOOO......when you come to think of it, you're actually WINNING whenever you accept those "short" (read: "saved" from catastrophe) losses.

(That might take some time to "develope" in your mind.....for that's a bit of "Advanced Baccarat" right there, my friends.....but let it "roll around your head" for a while, and the "light bulb will go on"; believe that. If I can get there, you can get there. Just be patient with yourself to develope that mind-set.)

That's what long-term winning is all about. It's about "covering all bases". Being prepared for all possibilities. "Expect the best but be prepared for the worst."

It's about knowing your edge(s) BEFORE you sit down to play. That might not guarantee your collecting on the next bet you make, BUUUT, when you REALLY KNOW your edge, you come to realize that it DOESN'T MATTER whether you won or lost that bet, for you're now playing for the LONG-TERM WIN.

We can get into more "Advanced Baccarat" at a later date; for there are Baccarat theories that I use religiously but they require alot of "real table experience" to both discover and develope.

For now, I wish all the best.....

Hi gr8plaer, More questions! I really want to use this MM so I want to make sure I understand completely.

    Win Goal: Over 10 units
Is it goal for a shoe or a session? I plan to play only 3-4 shoes per session or per day.

Whenever I'm down more than 6 units, I'll accept any win.
Explain more! Is it any win after you recover 6 units?

After any lost session, I will increase my unit size for the next session, percentage-wise, depending on loss amount of prior session. At recoup, it's back to base bet.
Since you are increasing your bet unit for new session after your losing one. Do you still keep your bank roll, buy in at 20 units? or 20 unit from your increase base unit?

    Thank you in advance...

K, while I thank you for your kind invitation, Vegas is just a bit too far off for me; you see, I don't like to fly.

I use a 20-unit buy-in at all times, regardless of my current unit size. Now, don't get me wrong, I'll virtually never use the entire 20 units in any session, but it's good to have it sitting in front of you, especially in those more difficult times. It's just good for your psyche to be "flush" at all times, as a Bac player.

K, you added a couple of questions that I'll answer here:

My "over 10 unit" goal is for the entire session, not any particular/single shoe.

You say you plan to play 3 to 4 shoes per day; here's what I would do:

If you hit your win goal in the very first shoe, at your next losing bet, quit this session with your win "locked up". As to your wanting to play a couple more shoes, no problem....buy-in again about an hour (roughly) later. At your second "same-day" buy-in, now your win/loss goals should be amended, because, you see, you've already "locked-up" at least 10 units; now we go into our "no harm" mode, where my loss limit is trimmed to 10 units and my win goal is virtually whatever I can "relatively easily" (read: assess how this second session is going at all times) get to the cashier's cage with. (Read: Accept any short win, or even shorter loss, if neccessary.)

Yes, after I am down 6 units, I'll quit the session at any "plus", which means, obviously, that I've recovered those 6 units and am now on the "plus" side (read: ahead/winning).

All part and parcel of long-term thinking, my friend. Good luck with it.

Why people move to Vegas? Of course! it's a obvious reason, to Gamble, play BACCARAT. This is the only way! Wish me luck! Oh, I forget! I don't need luck, luck will run out eventually. I need skill like "gr8player" to stay long run.

If anyone coming to Vegas, look me up. I play at Palaces Station, Rio and Caesar for now.

Great suggestion! Thank you! I'll follow that.
