    Smile Las Vegas Trip Report

    Hey guys,

Last weekend I took a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas. I posted my scorecard result on my baccarat411 blog

I broke how I went about to play shoe and why i wagered the way I did.

Thank you very much green8. Always appreciate your blog and especially showing your shoes at Harrah's. I will definitely have to drop by when I am there next month.

Those are AMAZING shoes. I wish more shoes like that in the East Coast.

I played 5 shoes since I had other obligations to attend to. I'll post my other 4 shoes soon. I gained a total of +7 units overall, enough for the plane ticket and food expenses. Not every shoe was smooth nor did I win.

Vegas 6/07/2011 - 06/08/2011 --- Played a total of 13 shoes. Broken even at the Bellagio. Only won one shoe at the Cosmopolitan and lost some good coin there. Made it all back and then some at the Wynn/Encore. Visited Harrah's and wanted to play but only one table open and it was full. Wanted to play at the Palazzo and Venetian but those were packed too.

My pleasure. You are very lucky to able to grab a bac game at Harrah's. For those two days I was there it was only one table opened and it is packed all the time. It was the only Strip casino I have seen with EZ Bac.

I stayed at Treasure Island this time because it was like $45 a night so it was a good bargain. Plus a short walk across to the Wynn. Was in room 9037. Man it was a TERRIBLE room. I am right in the back of the Siren of TI show. So I am right smack behind the fireworks. Between 8 pm to 11 pm I made sure I am not in my room. Overall okay hotel but I wouldn't repeat. They nickel and dime you for every little thing. I mean they even charge me some $5.41 for a little champagne/wine opener. Good cafe/Vietnam restaurant though. The cafe is 24 hours. The Mirage is much better yet much louder. Only one baccarat table at TI and it was $100 and I didn't even bother.

Next time I am heading back to either Wynn/Encore or staying at the Mirage. The sushi joint Japonais at the Mirage.... expensive and not worth it. Only positive was my waitress/server.

Don't know why so many people avoid the Wynn/Encore. Every time I am there it is so easy to find a game to play by yourself. That is also as to what contributed to my profitable trip(s) to Vegas. Yet not so across the street with the Venetian/Palazzo. Always packed with that casino.

Someone mentioned about EZ baccarat tables, at the Monte Carlo.

I saw "one" EZ baccarat table, at the Paris as well.

Thanks. I have realized that these tables in Vegas are very elusive. They can be a regular $25 table on a Tuesday and then an EZ bac table on a Thursday and then a $10 table on a Sunday morning. At the Monte Carlo the times I ever roamed in there to take a peek it is always a ten dollar min table.

I didn't go that far this time when I was in Vegas. I only roamed around the upper half of Vegas from the Wynn to Cosmopolitan. After so many times being in Vegas I have found my footing on where to go. Since I know where is what and what is where I can navigate the Strip better. But man the first time I was there I wanted to discover every nook and cranny of the Strip.

    Vegas 09/05/2011 to 09/07/2011

Stayed at the Wynn and played at three casinos - Wynn, MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay. Played mostly at the Wynn/Encore - 8 Shoes ($25 to $100 Tables). MGM Grand - 1 Shoe ($50 Table). Mandalay Bay - 3 Shoes ($25 Tables)

Biggest drawdown was around $475 losing all three shoes at Mandalay Bay.

Both MGM and Wynn/Encore were profitable. This time around played mostly at the Wynn. Only two shoes at the Encore because of only 10 free hand limit at the low limit table. One shoe at the Encore played only one hand was a -1 unit at $50 loss because the dealer told me the hand limit AFTER the game started not before. Just colored out and walked. The free hands still stand though at the Encore High Limit Salon. So I just walked off went back upstairs to get more capital. Played one $100 table at the Encore. The rest of the shoes were at the Wynn. At the Wynn went on sniper mode and just walk off every time I had a +3 unit win. This was because of the beating I took at the Mandalay Bay.

Will post shoes when I have the time.

Full Shoes at Wynn and Encore. Two very tough shoes. They were played to full because that was before the beat down I had at the Mandalay Bay at mid-morning after the Wynn shoe. Encore shoe was played in the evening of 09/05 and the Wynn shoe was played in the morning of 09/06.

    Encore

Had to break up the sheet into two parts because shoe could not fit.

Mandalay Bay 09/06/2011 Mid-Morning. After full Wynn Shoe of post #15. Played three shoes. Lost all three. First shoe I was -1 unit at a loss of $25. Second shoe took the most beating at -15 units to a loss of $350. Third shoe a -4 units straight to a $100 loss.

Didn't play all the way with third shoe since it is time to get out of dodge. Left after 12 hands.

    Total loss was -$475

It was a flat betting grind down at a $25 Table. Luckily I didn't do any progressions and it was a $25 Table or else I would of lost much more.

Only two shoes that were played to full are posted. Third shoe didn't even bother since I threw away the scorecard.

The two shoes will be displayed in one sheet with #1 as the first shoe on top and #2 as the second on the bottom.

Oh I am up $1,275 for this three day trip. I would be up $1,750 if not for Mandalay Bay. There was a time I was up between $75 to $100 and I should of left since I had various moments where I was beaten by a point, when I got an 8 and the other side got a 9. When I did get a nine the other side got a nine too tying it up. I mean right there I should take it as a sign to leave.

Yeah Shoe 2 had lots of ties. Nope. My method doesn't play ties but I did learn something to tell if a tie will show. The lower left hand of the scoreboard. A guy who was playing with me at the Wynn (Shoe 4) was telling me how to spot them. It is some alignment of the green dots or something.

You know green8 I am very amazed you were able to play at Harrah's. When I was there they only had only one table opened and it was packed with people. So was The Mirage too. Not surprised since the tables from these two casinos were $10 tables.

I will definitely be back to Vegas after Thanksgiving. I realized the reason I do much better in your hometown as opposed to on being on my own turf of CT and AC is because I have no time constraints. Plus other variables like that the baccarat patrons in Vegas are more civil to the ones on the East Coast. So this helps to my plays.

Also to that little debacle with the scoreboard you had a while ago. That kind of scoreboard can be found all over the Wynn since their low limit tables become high limit ones come the afternoon. Wanted to take a picture to validify your claim but the supervisors didn't allow it. Funny thing is that I think I am the only one who doesn't know how to read all that gibberish results and stats that are up there.

As, I've stated in The shoe from "Heaven". thread, that kind of scoreboard is all over in Las Vegas.

At the Wynn and Encore, they "only" use this kind of scoreboard at their baccarat tables, including the "High Limits" areas, as you've seen them.

The casinos do not allow players or anyone to take a picture, at the tables or at the scoreboards.

The reasons they'd let me take the picture at that scoreboard, is because I know some of the shift managers, supervisors and the dealers there.

Also, it was after 2 am. and not too many people around, at that time.

You're not the only one, who doesn't know how to read all of the results on those scoreboards, most players don't and that's including me...ha ha.

I've no desire to know what they mean, since they don't help us to win the game, in anyway.

    DiMenos,

Congrats. Looks like you have something that is very promising that is in actual practice. Hopefully one of these days I am going to have you and your system figured out.

Thanks for displaying your actual plays and shoes.

Heh heh heh. You got some strong words there.

Hahahahahahaha.... I think you have a better chance of figuring my method of play than figuring me out. Hell most of the time I couldn't figure me out. And you know what if you do let me know! Hahahahahahaha..... ahhhh... the people in this place.....

Now if you are able to figure out my method(s) please...

    1) Hope you practice, practice, practice. This will take about four to six months to "master" and that is not guaranteed.
    2) Hope you are able to improve upon it.
    3) Hope you actually take this to the tables and win most of your shoes.
    4) And once you have 1 to 3 taken care of and become consistently profitable, don't get greedy and don't share this so openly with everyone stressing all the ins and outs. Just play and win and stay under the radar.

It took me a few years and some sacrifices to "perfect" it. And honestly this is still evolving.

    That is about it.

    Good Luck!

That depends on the supervisor in charge nowadays. The casinos (particularly Wynn/Encore and the MGM establishments) have given supervisors a lot more power and authority in how to run their tables when they are in charge.

On the first night (09/05/2011) I was playing at the Encore Salon $100 table because this is where they still allowed the free hands. There were three of us playing and there was a good camaraderie and a conversation came up about taking pics of the score board. There was one shoe at the Wynn side that had some 31 straight Players and everyone wanted to take pictures of this aberration. The supervisor in charge allowed this yet you have to ask. Many could not take a clear pic because of the flash.

I wasn't around because it was early in the day and I didn't land and got to my hotel until 8:30 pm.

And John Mayer was around at the craps table throwing down big money.

Lots of things were going on last week at the Wynn/Encore when I was there. Apparently as always I didn't personally know because honestly all I am focusing on is playing bac. Heard this from other players sitting at my table.

    Wow, 31 straight players!

Have you seen other celebrities playing craps, roulette or baccarat in Vegas or AC?

Come to think of it ....oh another incident with 18 straight ties at that same table with the 31 straight players. It was early that Monday which was Labor Day. I was still up in the air. I really wish I was there since I would of definitely talk my way with the supervisor and taken the pics and post them up here most definitely. My two baccarat compatriots and the dealer that were there when this happened highly yapping about it.

I have never seen or met celebrities at the tables but I have seen them at the clubs at the Wynn particularly at Tryst and XS.
