I am picking this up from the thread on "Negativity"
GBV has suggested that one way to get an edge at Bac is through comps
and rebates. I believe he is right.
Consider an associate of mine who is a recreational player. She follows trends and admits this is a guessing game.
She is going to Las Vegas next month and staying at the Bellagio.
1. She plays in the high limit room and flat bets banker $100 (the table min.)
After four hours of play, she has at most been in three shoes
(they only have Macau style in this room)
Total money at risk $24,000, if she played all hands
House take is 1.2%, but lets call it .8% since she will be sitting out
after a loss to three players.
2. Theoretical house take $192.
She did this last month and earned 1) $40 in "exprees comps" equal to cash in the hotel and restaurants,
2) $150 in free play chips
3) A free room in the middle of the week, retail value $149.
4) 2 for 1 show ticket.
Do you make a living from this. NO
Can you have some fun, absolutely
BTW, she will be playing at the same table as me, getting the benefit
of my method.
On a serious note, I know of some large players who have been able to negotiate a reduced bank commission, 4% instead of 5%,
as an inducement to play at a particular casino.
These people don't worry about the free room.
If you are interested in playing the comps game, there are better games to play.
Many people like video poker, I personally find that a game called "Ultimate Texas Holdem" comps very well, and can be played at a house edge of .6% to .8%
That can be lowered with some collusion strategies you can find on the internet.
