For the past four years my sole income has come from the baccarat tables. I play 5 days per week, 5-6 shoes per day, and I play 49-50 weeks in the year. Are there any other fulltime pros here?

Well, I will not be too specific, but generally, i use a variation of Star System for mm. I only place vets on about 30-35% of decisons in each shoe, so I no-bet often. My betselection is 95% mechanical, and my lifetime bankroll was 1500 units and worst drawdown was about 300 units into that. I have averaged about 7 units per shoe, net over the past 4 years of live play and did the same during testing. I tested my method by hand against both Zumma books and 500 of my own shoe before starting play for real money.
Hello Soxfan (I hope that is not the Red Sox)
1. Are you betting the bank side only?
2. Your method sounds similas to Bryan's method. Have you looked at his method, and if so how do they compare/
3. Do you play online?
4. Where do you play?
5. Have you caught the attention of Casino Surveillance?
Please see my post under your thread Streak Distribution.
That sample was heavily skewed, and an easy sample to make money in.
I hope the data you used to build your system is more balanced.
soxfan, I have a question.
How long did it take you to reach the level you are at now in terms of learning your game?
Good luck and here is hoping to another 4 years of continued success.
Yup, I is a Red Sox fan.
1. I bet both sides.
2. I am not familiar with the mothed of this Brian dude.
3. I do NOT play online and NEVER will.
4. I play at casinos in Ontario Canada, Rama and the two in Niagara Falls.
5. They CAN NOT bar you from casinos in Canada for simply winning regularly so I'm not concerned about surveillance.
If you just talk and no prove
iwill call you SEX SO FONDDDDDD--->
I am a half time baccarat player. I have played 9 years from the age of 21, I am 30 right now. I got my attention to this game before 21 but can't play. I played only the weekend (sat/sun) sometime friday. I played 5-8 hours, 52 weeks. From Monday to Friday, I have to worked. Sometime I took a week of vacation and play. And right now I am still playing it.
I have not look for a girlfriend. I dont think any girl out there will get comfortable with gambler.
Why no Girl? Come on Philipph? You know girls love a "Gambler" especially a winning one such as yourself, unless...hmmm, ok I won't assume. Let me let you in on a little secret, girls love MONEY, the shallow ones at least. Money compensates for many problems you have and opens "doors" so you've got to use your key. You definitely need a girl to be "HUMble" for you, it helps relieve your stress levels. Take charge, girls love to be "HUMbled". Now, may I ask how you play? Bet selection, MM, etc... Just like I did soxfan. He wasn't trying to sell so I let him explain. Can you enlighten us here at the Forum?
This is true- but I have a hard time believing that casinos anywhere else wouldn't enjoy this same privilege- even where you play.
They're all places of business, and like the vast majority, could kick you out whenever, for any reason. Having said this, I would think it would take alot in most places to actually get kicked out for winning.
it must be very tough since money isn't guarantee
and you have next 20 years of career as well..
i do respect people who can do that
In Las Vegas you can be told that you are tresspassing and must leave. They even hand you a letter giving you official notice.
That happened to me at Treasure Island a couple of years ago.
In Atlantic City they can't throw you out, but they can "push back" your bet, and limit your play to only the table minimum.
I have been warned about this at the Taj Mahal and the Showboat.
Actually, they are most concerned about teams. Same like blackjack.
I am a professional gambler. The biggest risk is that you are out of the job market for many years and let me tell you, no employer wants to hear about gambling. Also your job skills go stale. A boss wants to know can you do the job. Go to Las Vegas. The town is full of cab drivers and dealers who tried turning pro, now those are the only jobs they can get.
I keep some part time work just to stay active in a related field.
Socially, what happens to you when you play baccarat all day.
Can you carry a conversation.
I was recently introduced to a 30 year old man who went to college,
then spent the last eight years playing poker on the internet full time.
Now he is broke and needs a job. His parents asked me to help him.
I did meet him. He could not make eye contact when speaking, every other word was a curse. His degree was in engineering. OK, but no experience
and eight years out of school. Not happening. He thought he could be
a salesman. Yeah, but you have to talk to people. Hidng in your one room apartment and staring at the poker screen when you are not jerking off to porn sites doesn't prepare you for anything. Physically there was no muscle tone, so real work is out of question.
Today he is trying to sell used Toyotas on route 46 in New Jersey.
Thank you for the advise. I am a software programmer, C soft, VB.net and SQL database. I currently have a full time job. I gamble for fun, but not want to hurt my financial. Good thing that I am not falling into the case of the man you describe above. But wow, so sad for him.
Personally, I am married to a wonderful woman and we have a daughter so my home life grounds me. Lose, or win I leave my business in the casino and never bring it home with me.
Often pros, especially poker pros live a fast lifestyle, using drugs and spending obscene amounts of money. I know of one well known pro who actually lost his bankroll and had to borrow six figures at HIGH interest to get back in the game.
We live comfortable but not ostentatiously, my house and cars are paid for and I put much of my bac profits into income producing real estate and other solid investment, but bac is my only ACTIVE source of income.
My method of play is modeled after blackjack card counting, so it is
obvious to surveillance and dealers who have been trained to watch for blackjack card counters.
It was not the amount of winnings as much as the amount of the bet that
got them nervous. Actually, I didn't get any heat until I started raising
my bets from a minimum of $25 to over $300. At the Taj, they put a limit when I went up to $1,000 and won a streak of six hands.
They said that I was losing the $25 bets and winning the $1,000.
At Showboat, I play at the $50 midibac table and go up to $500.
They told me a 10 to 1 spread was ok, as long as they didn't tink I was working with a team.
Today I spread my play around much more. If I win $3,000, I go to another casino.
Last year I did post the story of getting barred in Las Vegas at the Treasure Island Casino. I walked out of there with $24,000 all won
on the tie bet at the end of the shoe. It is very rare for me to bet the tie,
but I estimated that the only cards left in the shoe were tens and possibly an eight or nine. I hit two ties at the last two hands. Six monkeys followed by six monkeys. This was in the high limit room, $100 table.
The dealer and floor person, who were very friendly were amazed and said
"you are very lucky or very good." As the dealer took out the last cards from the shoe I asked If I could see them. The floor person said no. I looked at the dealer and said "you are holding face cards and an eight."
She and the floor person looked, smiled and said I was in deed very good.
I sat down waiting for the next shoe when the floor person handed me an envelope with the Tresspassing notice, and said, "if we ever see you here again, you will be arrested for tresspassing." That was my fault. I was showing off.
hello there.. it is good story... and the guy who lost a lot in poker is tough luck
my favorite quote, this came from my favorite radio host "there is one guy jump off the cliff and survived.. but it doesn't mean you should do that same..."
Probac can make living off gambling doesn't mean you should do the same..
We see pro poker players winning world series of poker doesn't mean we should do the same...
life can be easy if you do things right.. go school and find pretty good job.. i would say that is much easier money to make than casino....
i think making living off the casino is actually hardest way to make living because first of all, money isn't guaranteed,
