    Default Table Selection

This thread is so I don't derail another one too much:

Sure, I mostly play on Black Orchid, where some of these things don't apply, but occassionally I go to crown casino.

I play on the $20 tables with my unit as $20. The commission is that you only get 50% of your winnings if Banker hits on 6 instead of the usual 5% on every banker thing. There are 2 $10 tables but on those tables you lose on ties instead of your bet returned (very annoying).

There are usually around 8 $20 tables (the limit goes pretty high, most people I see there are Asians betting anywhere from $50 to $500 at a time).

Usually one is closed so there are around 7 tables to choose from.

Usually there is 1 table which has a few 5+ streaks on that all the Asians get excited about and are crowding around. I usually avoid that table because not only is it difficult to get a seat but the trend seems to be a bit unstable. At the other tables, finding a seat isn't that hard.

How long does it take me to find a table? sometimes I don't find a table! But usually there is 1 where I can see a definite trend from the toteboard. I generally walk around for a few minutes evaluating the toteboards.

It's a complicated task, at crown I've noticed that the shoe they have in the shuffler will produce trend B while the current one produces trend A. ABABAB etc... (I hope this makes sense!)

I think I believe that getting money from casino is a hard job, specially in a long term. I am not sure if there is club like RSL or Westfield at the suburbs around Melbourne, as I know there is such club in Sydney. They have Bac machine, big fancy CLD and tough screen (min $1 and max $100). You can sit there being very comfortable and having free drinks. Better than in casino get around with crowed people. But any way you like live bac is the other question.

Hopely you can find a way to play and win money. So best luck mate.

BTW, 50% commission on Banker 6 make it an average commission 7%.

They really have tables where you lose on ties???

Does anybody even play at those tables?

That's really messing up the game for sure.

The only baccarat I know of in Melbourne is Crown Casino. I would definitely prefer a quiet location with free drinks and playing at a $5 unit!

People do play on those tables ADulay! They have this bait where if your side wins with a 8 or 9 on the last card, you win double the money.

I'm not sure when Crown introduced those rules John. However, they are there, next time you are in Melbourne play and we'll find out!

John you seem to misunderstand the 8 or 9 on last card thing. It works like this:
Say I bet $10 on player.
Player wins on an 8 on the third card.
I get back $30 from my bet ($10 original bet + $20 winnings).
You don't have to bet on dragon for it to happen.

    Cool Re: Table Selection

So , Player wins if it scores 8 or 9 on third card not mattering Bank scores and paid double ?
Back in early 2000's , I never found that rules on Baccarat tables in CROWN and/or STAR CITY.

    argh more confusion.

The player/banker has to win on the third card equalling 8 or 9 for the bonus to happen.

The casino varies the game for what reason? Maybe they make it more attractive? What we care about is if the house becomes more favor to the casino or the gambler? I believe they made the house favor themselves. When the casino business was getting worse than before then what they had changed, of course, will for the good of their business.

So let us see what is the house of this variation. The percentage for Banker wins on 3rd card with total value of 8 and 9 is 6.7039% (among all Banker combinations); the percentage for Player is 7.7491%.

If these rules are for side bet (lost on tie when bet on Banker or Player; regular pay B/P win on 1 to 7; and double pay B/P win on 3rd card total 8 or 9), then the house for side bet Banker is: 0.95*0.458597*(6.7039%*2+93.2961%*1)-1*0.446247*(7.7491%*2+92.2509%)-9.5156%=46.48738%-48.0827%-9.5156%=-11.111%. This is reasonable high because you lose on tie which happens 9.5156% of the game. If you will not lose on tie when bet B/P, then the house for Banker is -1.595%. Now you see the house is 1/2 double, comparing to regular house on Banker -1.058%.

If lose on tie when bet B/P, the house for Player is: -10.367%. If no lose on tie when bet B/P the house is -0.851%, about 1/3 less comparing to -1.235%.

Overall, the house increase a bit for good of the casino. But if you don't lose on tie when bet B/P, then bet on Player is better since the house of Player cut 1/3.
