Default -10* F in San Antonio

Re: Coffee Talk Lounge - beatthecasino.com
- 10* F in San Antonio! That wrung my bell since I was stationed at Brook Army Hospital there, the burn center of the world. Brings back a rush of memories.-10*F! Folks there have no concept. Their Winters are like our Summers. Cold weather gear is long sleeves. Buildings and houses have no heating systems. They have no concept of Winter clothes. Anti freeze is a completely foreign term. Snow tires are some sort of NY joke about tires made of snow. Freezing pipes are a figment of some Yankee's imagination.

Boot camp was at Fort Dix, N.J. I boarded a train in Syracuse NY in a driving snow storm on April 10th. Things went down hill from there. It rained for a record 18 days straight at Dix. As a GE Heavy Military Engineer I could have gone straight to OCS (Officers Candidate School). Could even easily have gotten a deferment, esp. being married. I guess I was a mental defective even back then. I wouldn't have missed it for a million dollars. I also wouldn't do it again for a million dollars.

But having some smarts helped even then. My friend Pete and I were alone on the train which ran all night long. So, we got a little drunk on the beer we smuggled aboard along with the Conductor who had turned very agreeable.

You spend the first day getting all your gear. which we had by nightfall.
So back in the ramshackle unheated barracks, being the intellectual of the duo, I said Pete, look here. We got new uniforms and no insignias. We look just like officers. Nobody even knows we're here. "Yeah!" "So, lets go to Writestown and find a bar! "How to we get through the gates?" " Leave that to me!" So I went to the phone hall and ordered a cab. He actually arrives! At our Barracks! So I say to him look buddy do you have those officer flags they perch on the front of VIP cars. "Sure, I've got them for every rank." So I slip him a $5 and ask, Do you have one for Generals?

We picked up an MP motor cycle escort before we even made it off base. Took us all the way to the bar in Writestown with sireens. Our "fellow officers" there were extremely gracious buying all we could drink. The girls were equally gracious. So, that's how I spent my first night in the U.S. Army - A.W.O.L.!

So what does this have to do with Baccarat? Absolutely nothing! Just a temporary diversion. We all need that now and then!

THat's the way it was, heading West.

What does any of that even have to do with the truth? You're just a lying "bum" who is forced to make up a life you never for an instant took the time to create.

There goes Garnabby quoting himself again - pointing you to other illegible BS posts that he himself wrote as proof of his latest illegible post. He has to do that because he can't find anyone else who agrees with him. Except perhaps Archer now and then.

I don't think anyone here is stupid enough to fall for your low tactics Garnabby. They are an insult to their intelligence.

You couldn't solve the 4th grade math tie problem Garnabby. You were a no show. You could have proved you aren't the complete phony you seem to be. You failed. Therefore, you are. End of story.

Garnabby, You don't know me from Adam. You know absolutely nothing about my life or my work. You might as well walk out the front door of your house and the first person you see call them the same names you keep calling me like some snot nosed 6 year old. It makes just as much sense. You don't know the first thing about Baccarat or who the scammers are who had no trouble scamming you whatsoever. You are a complete joke and prove it with every post you write. There is only one person trying to scam everyone here and its YOU. Now lets hear one of your stupid seven syllable, idiodic, 6 year old replies that never have a damn thing to do with Baccarat. "Contributions" my ass.
