Default Time-Tested Strategies for Baccarat Success

Alright fellow BaccaratForums.com readers, here I'm going to show you how Baccarat gambling can become very profitable!

For the beginners out there, baccarat is played with 6 or 8 decks of cards and chances on a hand dealt from a full shoe of 6 or 8 decks is as follows:

    • With 6 decks a banker can win 0.46, a player 0.45, and a tie 0.09
    • With 8 decks a banker can win 0.46, a player 0.44, and a tie 0.09

The casino will take a commission on the winning Banker hand (either 4% or 5%) and payouts on tie bets (8:1 or 9:1). This yeilds the following casino advantages:

With a 6 deck shoe, and a 5% commission the advantage on a banker bet is 1.056%. With a 4% commission it drops to 0.6%. On a player bet is 1.24%. On a tie bet with 9:1 odds its 14.93% and on 8:1 odds its 14.43%. An 8 deck shoe yields the about the same advantage.

Forget card counting, as the casino will shuffle after each play. Also there is not much in the way of strategy, as the game follows so many automatic rules.

    The Baccarat Common Sense Strategy

Never bet on the tie. The odds are overwhelmingly in the house’s favor Also, as the bank will win in the end, why not bet the banker’s hand. Even after paying the commission, you still have odds in your favor. So bet with the bank.

Look for games that use the 6 deck shoe, and has a 4% commission. You might find this a bit boring, but it works and you will win.

Good overview of baccarat strategy there.

Of course to get anywhere in baccarat you need to master play and loss management.

From the chart in the previous post you know now the best bet, but not how much to bet. This is also important. In Baccarat Gambling, it is crucial.

You must decide to have self-control. A majority of players often wager more than they can afford to lose. Don’t be one of them. Follow the three simple rules below:.

    1. Before you start Baccarat Gambling you MUST decide how much you are going to lose. Write it down, stick to it. That is your limit.

    2. Budget the money you have and allocate just so much to each round of play

    3. Each time you win, allocate a percentage to the opposite pocket. Leave it there. Don’t deviate and that money is out of play. A smart player will put ALL of a winning hand out of play.

For example you have decided $1,000 to wager and to lose. You will bet the game betting the table minimum (let's say $50). Put your winnings as per rule 3, out of play, After the 20th round you'll only have played the $1,000, However, the money out of play, your winninng are waiting for you.

This strategy works for Baccarat Gambling, and is the strategy of the winner. If you leave with only small winnings, you are a WINNER.

You must remember that. Forget it, spend you winnings, don’t follow your strategy, and chances are you will leave broken and a loser.

Baccarat Gambling can be profitable and fun, but you must be disciplined and strong.

This is a great baccarat forum thread if you're a beginner or intermediate baccarat player - let's get some more great tips from the baccarat pros on here!

It's true that Baccarat Gambling is perhaps the simplest game to play with no decisions made after a bet is placed.

The rules are set and final.

The Dealer at the table must act according to these rules without consulting players. Baccarat gambling can be very exciting nevertheless, and somehow it is made more glamorous than any other game.

A normal baccarat table is about the size of a craps table with up to 3 casino dealers and up to 14 players. Each player, including the player dealing, may still bet on either the player or the banker usually the dealer to bets on the banker.

Rotating around the table, the deal is similar to how the dice rotate around the craps table. A player may pass the shoe to the next player. The same person will keep dealing as long as the banker keeps winning. Baccarat gambling is very simple. Here is how it’s done.

The dealer will put two cards, face down, held under the shoe, and deal the player with the greatest bet on the player the other two cards, face down. This player can view his cards and immediately gives them back to the dealer. The dealer will then turn over the cards and one of the casino dealers will announce the totals.

Depending on the results the dealer may then deal a third card. Finally the dealers will pay winning wagers and collect losing ones out of the dealer's tray. Nothing could be simpler than baccarat gambling.

    Meanings of the hand dealt

A numbered card less than ten is worth its face value, aces are worth 1, and tens and face cards are worth 0. The suit is immaterial. The highest total of any baccarat hand is nine. A two-card total of nine is called a "natural" and cannot lose. A two-card eight is the second-best hand and is called a natural as well. If both player and bank are dealt identical hands, it is a tie and neither wins.

The score of the cards dealt is the right digit of the total of the cards. For example if the two cards were a 6 and 5, then the total would be 11, and the score would be a 1. The totals will range from 0 to 9 and there is no possibility to bust.

    Betting Options in Baccarat Gambling

The game begins when all players bet either on the 'player', 'banker', or a tie.

    The Players Options

In case the player or the banker has a total of an 8 or a 9 they both must stand. In case the player has total of 6 or 7, the player must stand. In case the player has total of 5 or less, the player automatically hits.

    The Dealers Options

In case the player stands, the banker must hit on a total of 5 or less. In case the player gets the third card then the banker draws a third card according to the following format:

    • If the banker has total of 0, 1, 2: The banker must draw a third card.
    • If the banker has total of 3: the banker must draws if the player's 3rd Card is a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-9-0 (not 8)
    • If the banker has total of 4: the banker must draw if player's 3rd Card is 2-3-4-5-6-7
    • If the banker has total of 5: the banker must draw if player's 3rd Card is 4-5-6-7
    • If the banker has total of 6: the banker must draw if player's 3rd Card is a 6 or 7
    • If the banker has total of 7: the banker must stand.

The Winning Hand in Baccarat Gambling

Simply - the winning hand is the one closest to 9.

Well I know most of the guys on here from the baccarat tables but I'm more of an online baccarat game type of guy (mainly playing at Playboy Casino but occasionally also at Zodiac Casino) so here are my tips on playing better internet baccarat!

Internet Baccarat can give the player all the thrill and excitement of the real game, without the hassle of dressing up in a Smoking Jacket, and having to bet $100 a hand and it’s easy to win!

Internet Baccarat is a simple game to play with no decisions made after a bet is placed and is a lot of fun and as surprisingly good odds for a game of chance.

    Internet Baccarat How To Play

Both the Dealer and the player must act according to these rules. Unlike the casino baccarat, in Internet Baccarat you have a computer interface with you and the dealer playing at a virtual table.

After the bet has been made the dealer will put two cards, face down, and deal the player the other two cards. You view your cards ,the computer dealer will then turn over the cards and the totals are seen.

Depending on the score of your hand the dealer may then deal a third card. Finally the dealers will pay winning wagers and collect losing ones out of the dealer's tray. Nothing could be simpler than Internet Baccarat

    Meanings of the hand dealt

You determine the score of the cards dealt by the right digit of the total of the cards. For example if the two cards were an 6 and 5, then the total would be 11, and the score would be a 1. The scores range from 0 to 9 only.

What I love about baccarat is it's elegance - something you don't see with blackjack and poker.

Baccarat, the royal game, was originally played only by the European aristocracy from the 15th century onwards.

Still today, there is an air of exclusivity about it and today more and more people are discovering at as online gaming becomes more popular.

The players often wear black tie dress, the playing area is set apart from the rest of the casino, and the playing limits are usually higher than all the other games.

Baccarat is truly the royal game as the rules, the manner of play, and the rewards all remind one of the elegant and romantic past.

Baccarat is basically a very simple game, and there are few and limited strategies to win. We shall examine them below. The odds are easy enough to calculate, and the play is rather structured as you shall see.

Baccarat is truly the royal game, and playing it reminds you of the gallant past and you somehow feel its elegance, even now.

Enjoy yourself, bet with the banker, and don’t overstay. Allocate your bankroll play have a win and loss target and leave when either have been hit and keep in mind your chances of winning for a game of chance are very good so good luck!

One of the reasons to love playing baccarat is that you're participating in a game that is easy to learn, is good fun and has surprisingly good odds.

For those reading this baccarat forum thread and are new, the goal when playing Baccarat is simply to draw a two or three card hand with a value closer to 9 than the banker’s hand.

    The Value of the Cards

When you play baccarat the cards have the following values

    • Numbered cards have their face value.
    • 10, Jack, Queen and King count as 0.
    • Ace counts as 1.
    • If the value of your cards is more than ten, you subtract 10. So a 8-9 hand totals 7 (after subtracting 10 from 17)

    Playing baccarat

Two hands are dealt one for the Banker and one for the Player. Before the deal, the player wagers on whether the Player's hand or the Banker's hand is closest to the total of 9. The player also has the option to wager on a tie i.e. both hands are of the same value

Baccarat is a card game that is dealt from a shoe that holds 6 or 8 decks. Before the hands are dealt, bets may be placed.

Once bets have been placed, the banker hand and the player hand are dealt according to fixed rules, giving final hands of either two or three cards for each.

The value of a hand is determined by adding the values of its cards to get a total. Tens and face cards are counted as zero, while all other cards are counted by the number of "pips" on the card face.

Only the last digit of the total is used, so all baccarat hands have values in the range 0 to 9 inclusive. The hand with the higher value wins; if the hands have the same value, the result is of course a tie.

    Sequence of play

When playing baccarat a game is started by dealing two cards for the player hand and two cards for the bank hand. An initial hand with a value of 8 or 9 is called a "natural."

If either hand is a natural, its holder must expose it and the game is over.

If this does not occur play continues, first with the player hand and then with the banker hand, according to the following rules.

Rules for the player hand: If the player's first two cards total 6 or more, then the player must stand without drawing a card. If the player's first two cards total 5 or less, the player must draw one additional card.

Rules for the banker hand: If the banker's first two cards total 7 or more, then the banker must stand without drawing a card. If the banker's first two cards total 0, 1, or 2, then the banker must draw one card. If the banker's first two cards total 3, 4, 5, or 6, then whether the banker draws is determined by the whether the player drew, and if so the value of the player's draw card, as shown below.

    Bets

Banker: 1- 1 (5% commission to the house) Player: 1 -1 Tie: 8 -1 There is only one good bet in baccarat and that’s the banker.

When you play baccarat increase your chances of winning by:

    1. Number of decks: Choose the game with as few decks as possible.

    2. Commission: Look for the casino that charge a commission on banker bets lower than 5% if you can find one.

    3. Bet on the banker. This bet has the lowest house edge and is the one to go for - usually.

    4. Money management. Work out the plan for the gaming session and follow it, don’t spend more money than you should chasing loses.

    5. Use baccarat systems. You must learn different baccarat systems to have an edge over the casino. If not, it's like going into a gunfight without a gun!

Follow the above guidelines and when you play baccarat you will not only have fun, but also have a strategy that can increase your odds of success.

One of the biggest aspects about baccarat is the probability aspect. Besides learning the different baccarat systems out there and practicing online (my fav is Casino Classic) if you are gambling on baccarat then to really make money you need to know the bets with the best odds of success.

To increase your odds of success all you can do is pick the bet with the best odds and this means knowing the theory of probability.

Probability is a branch of mathematics that deals with calculating the likelihood of an event's occurrence, which is expressed as a number between 1 and 0.

An event with a probability of 1 is considered a certainty:

For example, take the toss of a coin the probability of a coin toss resulting in either "heads" or "tails" is 1, because there are no other options, assuming the coin will land flat i.e. the probability is 0.

An event with a probability of .5 is considered to have equal odds of occurring or not occurring:

For example, the probability of a coin toss resulting in "heads" is .5; this is because the toss is equally as likely to result in "tails."

Probability theory applies precise calculations to quantify uncertain measures of random events.

    The odds don’t change!

Let’s take a look at an example that relates to gambling online in game of chance and put in the house edge.

    Odds & the house edge

We are offering to pay you odds of 10 to 1 (you win $11.00 minus the $1 you paid to place the bet. Of course if we paid you the correct odds of 12:1 things would of course, even themselves out over the long run but, in this example we have given you worse odds and this represents our edge.

The advantage or edge we have charged you is similar to the one you will encounter in a casino when gambling online.

To get to the point, in baccarat betting on the banker has the best odds and the house edge is just 1.06%!
