Default The Fat Man

I was barred from BJ at my favorite casino about 12 years ago? Wow, has it been that long? That's when I got interested in Bacc. Anyway when I first started BJ in AC some years ago I used to card count and try to scrape a living out of it. I used to always see a guy whom I called "The Fat Man" playing big money and he always had a stack of black and yellow chips in front of him. I called him The Fat Man because, well, he was fat. He also was dressed in an impeccable suit with lots of expensive jewelery. I used to think, gee I wish I knew how he played. I knew he recognized my face because we were both there a LOT.

One day I managed to run into him in the men's room and we were the only two in there. Our eyes met (and we fell in love - LOLOL - just kidding) and I said "Boy, I wish I knew how to play as well as you." Well he glared at me, got red in the face and said, "Listen kid, I could play this game every day of my life and win - but I still wouldn't get back all the money I've lost in this game!" Then he walked out. I saw him from time to time but never spoke to him again

Things aren't always what they seem!

Hey Archer, That "fat man" did he have a big red clown nose with big clown shoes? Let me know ok? A lot of people on this forum are looking for a clown bike outside of a casino somewhere .

BTW, i like the direction you and a few others are taking this forum, a lot of good ideas floating around.

That's beautiful Could make for an interesting book "Archer and the Fat Man: A Baccarat Love Story" or maybe "My Mind Said 'Bet on Banker' But My Heart Said 'Bet on Love'"

That happened to me once when I was in my early 20s and I remember seeing this guy always grinding with girls, dancing close. I used to think "damn, I wish I knew how to get with girls so easily like that". I then saw him with his boyfriend and through one of those girls that I ended up dating found out he was gay and those were all his "girlfriends"

Old saying in Texas: All Hat and No Cattle

Here's an explanation of that phrase I found online:

Quote:
In rural American small towns, where we cling to our guns & religion, we have an expression for these types. You know the type - he dresses to the nines in his expensive "cowboy duds"; his beaver stetson, ostrich boots shined up real purty, the biggest store-bought silver buckle he can find, jeans with the creases still in them. The guy who looks like he "knows somethin' 'bout somethin' to people who know nothin' 'bout nothin'". That guy. He looks good, he's a smooth talker & he puts on a mighty good show pretending to be something he's not - but he has absolutely no substance. Out here, we say "He's All Hat & No Cattle".
